Environmental Remediation and Recovery, Inc. (ER&R) is a rail car cleaning and transloading facility strategically located off the North/South Canadian National (CN) mainline in Mounds, Illinois.  Mounds is situated in the heart of Agriculture (AG) Country and serviced by both the Ohio and Mississippi rivers and just 2 miles from Interstate 57 in Southern Illinois.  ER&R provides a unique service in cleaning food grade railroad cars. ER&R is also Kosher certified for Kosher Upgrade and Kosher Maintenance cleaning.

ER&R offers direct delivery without the need of a short line railroad saving customers additional expenses. Our team stays in contact with the customer during the cleaning process to answer any questions.  Once cleaning is complete, we request disposition and release the cleaned rail cars back to the desired location, or the customer can provide disposition up front with shopping instructions.

Cleaning capabilities include (but not limited to): cleaning of Non-Pressurized Tank Cars, Gravity Hoppers, Pneumatic Style Hopper Cars, and removal and disposal of residual heel up to nearly full cars of rejected product prior to required wash per customer needs. We meet customer requirements by providing before and after photos, and a cleaning certificate with seal numbers. ER&R maintains Kosher Certification under the supervision of Vaad Hoeir of St. Louis, Missouri and provides Kosher certifications for those washes.

Commodities cleaned include (but not limited to): molasses, beet by-products, corn syrup, floorwater, steepwater, vegetable oils (corn, soybean, palm, peanut, canola, etc.), glycerin, bio-products, germ meals, ethanol, gluten products, flour, starch, and other feed products. We also can quote on special projects for large heel amounts for disposal as needed.

ER&R can currently accommodate over 100 cars on our track, with room for further expansion.
